The Nature of Business
Arbitration.in is built on a "Collaborative Model" where by
potential arbitrators and mediators in every nook and corner of the country
would have an opportunity to show case their capabilities and participate as
members of arbitration or mediation panels across the country.
These potential arbitrators and mediators will be able to
use the back office support system of arbitration.in and the online
arbitration facility when available.
In effect, arbitration.in will function as the "Virtual
Office" of the arbitrator/mediator to which he will walk/surf in when required
to chair the arbitration/mediation sessions.
These services are provided on a "Membership Basis" and
upon sharing of revenues in an agreed manner. In effect therefore
the members and arbitration.in together are collaborative partners to the
venture with different responsibilities and revenue shares.
The coordinators at the the state level are
conceptually like the distributors of the service. The coordinators at the
district level are like local managers on profit sharing basis.
District Level Coordinator:
To be a successful district level coordinator therefore one
needs to understand the business of arbitration and how it functions.
The coordinator may from time to time be required to manage
organization of arbitration venue and recording of arbitration proceedings.
This requires office management skills.
The district coordinator should establish contacts with
potential arbitrators and mediators who will in most cases be lawyers, retired
judges and other senior professionals with expertise in various fields. They
may join as individual members or as self organized arbitration/mediation
councils. A bit of marketing is required to make the potential customers
understand the benefits of membership.
The coordinator may himself be a lawyer or a chartered
accountant or any other professional and work as the coordinator on a part
time basis provided he is able to manage the demands of his work.
Since it is envisaged that the reward is on the basis of
revenue sharing, an "Entrepreneurial Nature" is required for being successful.
All transactions of financial nature would be in the name
of the promoting company and the coordinators are not expected to handle any
receipts on behalf of the members or the public. They will however be provided
with imprest amount required for expenses where required based on a monthly
indent-report system.
A certain amount of security deposit is envisaged to be
provided by the applicant. There may be a registration fee and annual renewal
fee as may be considered necessary though some of these are waived as an
introductory measure.
The Coordinator would be entitled to a share of all
revenues generated by the district center at a pre agreed sharing formula.
Details can be obtained on request.
State Coordinator:
The role of the State Coordinator is more like that of a
product distributor for a region. He has to promote the concept in his area at
his expense.
While a knowledge of the business is an advantage, acumen
in managing a state level relationship with the potential arbitrators may be
of advantage.
A certain amount of security deposit is envisaged to be
provided by the applicant. There may be a registration fee and annual renewal
fee as may be considered necessary though some of these are waived as an
introductory measure.
The Coordinator would be entitled to a share of all
revenues generated by the different district centers in the State at a pre
agreed sharing formula.
Details can be obtained on request.
In exceptionally deserving cases security deposit may be
waived and/or substituted with Bank Guarantees.
